Nivea Daily Essentials Rich Moisturising Day Cream Review

Over the past couple of months I've been having a lot of trouble with my skin, it's very dry and dehydrated. So on my search for a moisturiser to combat this, I came across this rich day cream by Nivea. I picked it up for around £3 from Tesco.

It claims to be suitable for dry and sensitive skin. It has an SPF of 15, and it's ingredients include almond oil and Hydra IQ which is supposed to provide that intensive moisture.

Nivea Daily Essentials Rich Moisturising day cream

Onto the application. The cream itself is slightly thick but smooths over the skin quite easily. However sometimes I feel like it sits on top of my skin rather than fully absorbs. This could be the SPF, as I find that SPF creams tend to be thicker. Ideally I would like it to be without SPF, and apply my own higher SPF separately.

It also has a very slight scent which doesn't bother me, but if your skin is extremely sensitive you might need to bear that in mind.

The cream does moisturise my skin whilst it's on but it isn't an improvement on other creams I have tried. My dry patches are still apparent, and they still cling to my concealor.

Overall, this was a bit of a meh product for me. It didn't really help my dry skin in the long term and I'm still looking for an affordable rich day cream.

It is now available for £2 here.

I hope this post was interesting!
I would love to hear your suggestions of any creams that would be suitable for very dry skin in the comments below!

  1. I suffer from the exact same issues! One of my favourite, cheap moisturisers is the Garnier Moisture Match for Dry Skin. I used to use this at night, but on really bad days it can be used in the morning too - it takes a while to absorb, but it does, and I found it really nourishing. It's £5.99 from Boots (here)

    1. It's a nightmare isn't it! I tried a sample of that a while ago, it didn't overwhelm me but I might check it out again! The Jojoba oil sounds amazing! Thank you :) xxx

  2. I swear by the La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 for my dry skin. It's a great no fuss product. It's thick but not heavy or greasy. It's definitely worth checking out :)

  7. My skin is horrendous as taking in products so the light day cream works so well for me - shame the rich one did nothing for you :(

    1. I didn't think of that! I generally don't use light creams as I find my skin needs that bit more, yeah it was a shame, hopefully I find something else instead. Thanks :) xxx
