Poundland Haul ft Rimmel

When you think of beauty Poundland isn't the first thing that comes into most people's minds, but I LOVE it!
Why you ask? Well why not, when you can get branded beauty products for less than a quarter of their recommend retail price!

Today I am going to be showing you some bargains that I picked up on a recent Poundland trip.

Poundland Make Up Bargains Haul

No your eyes are not deceiving you, I did get all of this from Poundland!
A lot of these are recent product launches like the Space Dusts and the Scandeleyes, so I'm thrilled to have got them all.

Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Paint
Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeshadow paint in golden bronze and slate grey

The Scandaleyes are like a creamy eyeshadow. I would describe them as a liquid eyeshadow, and they remind me a lot of the Illamasqua liquid metal eyeshadows. I got these in two shades, golden bronze and slate grey.

These are incredibly pigmented, and have a soft texture. They can be warm alone for a simplistic look, or they can be used as a base for more vibrant colours. Golden Bronze is a perfect gold shade that would flatter everyone, and Slate Grey looks more silver to me, and again would suit all skintones.
I would say they last for a good few hours with a primer, and are a great alternative to cream eyeshadow.
These retail for £5 here.

Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer and Powder Blush
Rimmel Exaggerate Eye Definer in Precious gold, and powder blush in 041 Bronze

I got the eyeliner in 290 Precious gold. It is incredibly soft and creamy, it is a twist up liner. True to the name it is a lovely gold colour, and I am sure that it is the same shade as the Scandaleyes eyeshadow in Golden Bronze. Rimmel liners and lip liners are generally high quality, and this does not disappoint.
This retails for £4 here.

Rimmel Powder blush in 041 Bronze
I actually brought this blush because I thought it was a bronzer, I also thought it reminded me of terrocotta blushers/bronzers. It's actually a powder blush in 041 Bronze. If you're very fair this might work as a subtle bronzer for you. Overall, I love the colour of this but it's not very pigmented, and it doesn't show up much on my medium skintone.
However, it's not much of a loss as I only spent £1 on it so it's a great way for me to experiment with new products.
This retails for £4 here.

Space Dusts
Rimmel Space Dusts in 007 Shooting Star, 003 Aurora, 004 Luna Love and 006 Moon Walking
From L to R 007 Shooting Star, 003 Aurora,  004 Luna Love and 006 Moon Walking.

The Space Dust nail polishes were only released late last year. I remember everyone talking about Aurora, and how it was the must buy shade. So imagine my delight when I found it and all the other shades for £1. Ofcourse I couldn't stop myself and had to buy them all! These look so pretty in the bottles and are just as lovely on the nails.

Shooting Star and Aurora are my favourites, and I think they would be great when doing nail art/glittery nails. Unlike some glitter nail polishes which have a clear formula with coloured glitter, the formula is also coloured in the Space Dusts.
These also retail for £4 here.

I love checking out what bargains Poundland has, and in the past I have found Milani (an American only brand), Calvin Klein, Sally Hansen and Manhattan.

I also believe that there is nothing wrong with the makeup at Poundland, it is not out of date and all these products are brand new. It's just that sometimes when brands get new product launches or rebrand (like Collection) then they may sell off some stock through discounters.

Update
I was lucky enough to find even more Scandaleyes eyeshadow paint on another trip to Poundland (I'm getting very spolit here!)

Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Paint in 006 Rich Russet and 014 Manganese Purple
The shades I found were 006 Rich Russet and 014 Manganese Purple. I absolutely love Rich Russet, it is a browny taupe, with quite a sheen to it. It would really set off a neutral eye. The formula is also lovely and smooth, and it is a new favourite of mine.

However, whilst Manganese Purple looks really pretty in the tube it was a bit of a disappointment compared to the others. The formula wasn't as smooth, a bit more on the dry side. The shade also didn't have the same high sheen as the other shades. It's not a huge bother though as I can still use it as a base for eyeshadow, and it was only £1.

I think this update just proved that with new stock coming in so quickly, you never know what you might find in Poundland!

I hope you enjoyed this post!

  7. My local Poundland has just had a redesign and there's now a huge make up, nail polish and skin care section! Most of it is branded and they have a few of their own branded products - I picked up one of their BB Creams yesterday and can't wait to try it out!
