Passion for Natural - Organic, Paraben and SLS free Skincare

It seems like everyone is going crazy for natural products now more than ever! But why? I've personally put it down to people being more aware of the ingredients in our products, especially the so called 'nasties' but what are they?

Parabens are basically preservatives, whilst some people think they're harmful to us there isn't much evidence yet and because they're used so widely it's hard to tell if they do negatively affect us. SLS is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. It is a surfactant so it's used in higher doses to clean surfaces, and is widely used in shampoos, mouthwash, toothpaste etc because it foams up very well. However, it is a skin irritant that can dry out your skin and it's argued that it can have much more side effects.

I'm not an expert on this and I'm still looking into this. In this post I'll be showing you some organic skincare I've come across.

Passion for Natural is a new skincare range made from 100% organic Aloe Vera, they use 100% liquid gel from the inner fillets of only the healthy leaves of the Aloe Barbadenic plant. Aloe Vera is made up of many vitamins, minerals, amino acids and polysaccharides that are known to support your skin's repair mechanism.

 Aloe Vera Gel* £7.40 Boots
The gel is a clear formula that resembles jelly. It absorbs instantly into the skin and doesn't leave a sticky or tacky feeling. It has a very very slight Aloe Vera scent. My skin is quite sensitive, especially after hair removal, so I like to quickly rub this in and it instantly soothes my skin and soon the irritation is gone. I think this would be great for people with dry skin or other skin conditions that makes it really uncomfortable for them. 92.8% of the ingredients is Organic Aloe Vera Barbadenis Leaf Juice.

Aloe Vera Lotion* £6.99 Boots
The lotion is as equally fast absorbing, and also has a very slight Aloe Vera scent. The consistency is just right, it's not too runny nor too thick that it's hard to rub in. It's great for quickly moisturising or moisturising on the go.  It leaves my skin feeling very soft and smooth. 80% of the ingredients is Aloe Barbadenic Leaf Juice.

Aloe Vera Body Butter* £8.95 Revital
The Body Butter comes in a nice tub, with a lid you flip open. The foil helps keep it fresh. Its runnier than other Body Butters I've tried, but it's still thick enough that you can scoop a bit out. It also rubs in a bit quicker and easier than other body butters, and is also fast absorbing. I noticed the Aloe Vera scent a bit more in the tub and on my skin. It's perfect for more intense moisturisation. 68% of the ingrediants is Aloe Vera Leaf Juice.

Overall, I really enjoyed using this range and I think it would be great for people that are looking for Organic products. It does cost more than other high street moistuisers but natural products generally do, it is also available in the Boots 3 for 2.

I hope you enjoyed this post!

Are you looking into natural skincare, what have you tried?

  4. I already know the products I love which is mostly from Alba Botanica - natural, organic, etc :) and they smell amazing! Also, I LOVE the Aloe Vera Toner from The Body Shop - only 6 ingredients, and no alcohol or parabens. I've just been loving a lot of natural skincare and I feel like my skin has been loving it ever since!

    1. I've never heard of Alba Botanica, I don't think they must be available here! That sounds good, toners with alcohol in them are so bad for your skin! I guess I should start using more natural skincare too ;) xx

    1. It's good enough to rival the more expensive body butters, yeah it's quite hard sometimes to find something that is truly natural :) xx
