Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick 910D Red Velvet Review and Swatches

I've always wanted to try out the Wet N Wild lipsticks after I saw everyone using their infamous sugar plum fairy. Unfortunately they're not sold in stores over here. But as luck would have it I stumbled onto this shade on ebay and got it for £3!

They claim to last 4 hours leaving a semi-matte finish, with rich colour that doesn't cake, feather or bleed.

The shade I got is 910D Red Velvet (which couldn't be more fitting for my blog). The packaging is composed of a plastic outer layer, you can clearly see the lipstick and the sticker at the bottom is also a good indicator of the shade. However, the lid does get dirty with lipstick smudging all over it (as you can see).

In the tube it does look like a neutral red, however in swatches and on the lips it is more of a pinky red. Therefore it's more brighter than I expected it to be. However, I love it! It's quite a stand out colour and I don't think I have anything quite like it.

It also has a bit of a shine so it's not totally matte, more semi-matte as suggested.

The formula itself is very opaque, one swipe and you're done! I don't know why they claim it lasts for 4 hours only when it actually lasts much longer. It did drag a bit when I applied it, it also stuck to my dry patches a bit but it wasn't really that noticeable. As the shade is so bright it will really suit medium to darker skintones, as well as fair skintones. The slight pink undertones in this will win over those with warm skintones. However I didn't find it moisturising at all but then again that is expected with most matte lipsticks, so you may need to wear a lip balm underneath if your lips dry out.

After an hour the lipstick dries down to a more matte finish, and it lasted around 6 hours on me. Overall, I think it's a really flattering shade and I think they're great for the price.

You can get it here for £3.84.

I'm really intrigued by Wet N Wild lipsticks now and would love to try out more shades!

Have you ever tried out anything by Wet N Wild?

    1. You should definitely give it a go, the hardest part of pulling off a red is finding the best shade for you, but after that anyone can pull it off :) xx

  15. I have two lipsticks from wet n wild that I really love, one bright red and one darker kind of plum colored one. And they are my absolute favorites and I plan to wear them all the time this season./love Ida

  16. Everytime I try wet N wild I get disappointed, the shade is always different, shiny and looks terrible on me! My friends told me to get only darker colors but I don't feel so!
