Balance Me Tinted Wonder Eye Cream with Glamour

Balance Me Tinted Wonder Eye Cream

My search for an affordable eye cream hadn't been going very well at all, so when I heard Glamour were doing a Balance Me edition with an eye cream worth £11 of course I had to go out and buy it, even if it was just to read the 'hey it's ok' section.

However, when I read it was tinted I wasn't too convinced whether it would be that effective as an eye cream or whether it was more reminiscent of a concealer. When I did get to the newsagents I noticed it also said light reflecting particles and my initial reaction was oh no, I don't really want an eye cream that makes me look like I have eyeshadow fallout, but there was no point walking away from the newsagents empty handed. So how did it go?

Balance Me Tinted Wonder Eye Cream

First of all, the product comes in a small tube with a screw cap which you remove to lightly squeeze out some product. The packaging is cute but purposeful and hygienic at the same time. You get 5ml of product for £2 compared to the normal price of £10 (see here).

The ingredients in the tinted wonder eye cream include: cucumber seed oil to reduce puffiness and brighten skin tone, rosehip oil to encourage cell growth and renewal, and arctic cloudberry seed extract to protect the skin from environmental damage.

Balance Me Tinted Wonder Eye Cream

When I first swatched this on the back of my hand it looked very yellowy, however when I apply this around my eye area it's more of a beige shade. I apply this to my cleansed and moisturised skin, the consistency is quite unusual however as it applies like a lightweight cream at first, however it then becomes quite tacky and I like to pat it on as I would a concealer to make sure it's covering the dark circles (mines are terrible!). I was quite dubious at first at the one shade fits all, however it does blend in very well and the colour is undetectable. I think this would work for most skintones.

Balance Me Tinted Wonder Eye Cream

This is the part though where I'm going to say that rather than an eye cream I actually found this to work better as a concealer base for me. First of all, I didn't find it that hydrating underneath my eyes but at the same time my under eye area did feel firmer (I had also dismissed this as just another claim), and it had helped even out the worst of my dark circles. In the description it also states it's perfect as a make up base, so again this leads me to say this is more of a base for the mornings and I would go in with another eye cream for the night.

So there you have it, it might not be the eye cream that I had hoped but anything that helps me with my dark circles is a winner, I'll let you be the judge of that though.

As you can see from the collage above it doesn't completely get rid of the very deep sunken line I have around my eye but it does make it look a bit brighter and less sunken in. However, the most difference is around the rest of my eye, the dark circles are alleviated quite a bit and when I put my concealer over the top it looks a lot brighter and more even. So I would really recommend the balance me tinted wonder eye cream if you hate your dark circles too, or even if you're dark circles aren't so bad you could get away with just using this.

I hope you enjoyed this post!

  1. I've never heard of this brand, but I love the sound of it. Especially the ingredients sounds lovely. I think I'm personally more into non-tinted eye creams, although I have pretty big dark circles too :D I just feel like a good concealer helps me the most with that. But I'd love to try this!

  4. I haven't tried any products from this brand before! It sounds like a really unusual product, as I haven't heard of an eye cream that works as more of a make-up base too. But I can completely see what you mean, it definitely has coverage and made your under eye area look really healthy. I would love to try this, as I think that with a little foundation over the top you wouldn't have to apply concealer. Loved this review, thank you for sharing.:D

  14. I've never really thought of having a base for my concealer but I have noticed that sometimes my concealer doesn't stay very well put on my face. I too suffer from under eye circles so I'm always looking for a product to cover them up!

    1. I think due to the under eye area being so delicate it can be quite hard to get concealer right, mines can either look a bit on the dry side or crease slightly. Although this base definitely helps brighten up that area for me, and I think an eye cream in the long term can also help reduce the look of dark circles :)

  16. I always enjoy magazine freebies! It's a great way of trying out new products without having to commit to purchasing a full-sized one. :) I don't have much experience with Balance Me, but heard some good things about them. This eye cream sounds lovely and I liked how it's packed with natural ingredients. Shame that it didn't live up to your expectations fully, but it does seem to brighten the dark circles a little bit and I think for £11, it could be a good purchase. Thank you for the honest review! Kisses. x x x

  28. Magazine freebies are the best, even if you don't like the product, you can still read the magazine, so you never lose. I haven't heard this brand before. Even though it doesn't give high coverage, it still gives some coverage which can be enough for makeup free days.
