The Pixi Glow Tonic was more of a spontaneous pick, I had read so many positive reviews on it that it was one of those products I just had to try out! I'm always dubious when I buy hyped up products but I haven't been left disappointed at all. I apply it to my face on a cotton pad once or twice a day, and I can really see the difference. My skin feels softer, the dry patches are all but gone and my skin looks more radiant. It is marketed as a toner, but I would say it's more of a low strength chemical exfoliator for daily use. You can get the 250ml for £18 (here), there's also a 100ml for £10.
I'm sure I'm probably late to the party but I was so surprised when I went to M&S to pick up my order. I mean they had everything, from Pixi, Stila, Nuxe to the Roxie Huntlington makeup range, which looks amazing! There's a cream blush and eyeshadow quad with my name on it, I've also seen Pixiwoo do a tutorial using her products and the concealer looks so good.
I know this is a present for my Mum, but it wouldn't be fair if I didn't show you all the goodies! The beauty hamper come really well packaged in a lovely box, so it saved me wrapping it!
One of the products included was the Rodial Stemcell Super-food facial oil. The full size facial oil retails at £60 for 30ml! However, my Mum's feedback on this was that it was decent, but not as hydrating as expected, the consistency is a bit thinner than you might expect.
I have plenty of nail polishes, yet none that could dupe this one in colour. Marsala is from M&S own polish range. I'm sure many of you will recognise Marsala from the Pantone Colour of the Year 2015, it's a stunning shade. This version is slightly lighter but still beautiful, it's still available here for £6.
Another M&S product; the Moroccan Escape bath essence with Argan oil. A bath product is quite a nice addition to the pack, but I can't say that anyone in my house is really fussed about bath smellies.
The main reason I wanted to pick up the hamper is because it included the Alpha H Liquid Gold. The 100ml retails for £33.50 here, so the 50ml was a very generous sample size! I knew my Mum would like to try this because she has a bit of sun damage, but her skin's been on the sensitive side lately so she hasn't tried this out yet.
The Nuxe Hand and Nail cream is a lovely size to pop in your handbag, and again very nourishing! Although, I have to say as a household we have so many hand creams that it'll probabaly be a while before this gets used up.
A lot of skincare companies exaggerate their claims when it comes to anti-ageing, but if there is anything that works, it is retinol! My Mum's pigmentation marks used to be a lot worse a few years ago than they are now, so after doing some research I brought her the Neutrogena Healthy Skin range that includes retinol as one of it's main ingredients. There weren't many retinol skincare products available to buy instore/online here in the UK so I ordered them over from the US. Within a short space of using the range the pigmentation marks had broken up into smaller marks, and in a few weeks they were nearly gone.
Now that she has a few coming back, I'm interested to see how this night treatment from StriVectin-AR work.
The Philip Kingsley Elasticizer is another coveted product, and I'm really interested to see the results from this one too.
The REN Cleansing Milk is a nice addition too, although we prefer hot cloth cleansers, it's a good size for travel purposes.
Lastly, there were two masks included for a good pampering session. I don't think my Mum's ever given a mask a go before, so this should be entertaining!
I hope you enjoyed this post!
Do you shop for beauty at M&S, or are you new to it like me?

DeleteThis looks like such a great hamper, I hope something similar is still available as my mums birthday is coming up and she would love this! I always forget about M&S for beauty but I definitely need to keep it in mind as it seems like they have some fab things :) x
ReplyDeleteI would say keep an eye out at Christmas, they might do some limited edition sets! xx
DeleteThese look awesome but yeah that lip cream is way too expensive

DeleteThe GWP looks so good! I love Liquid Gold! Love Pixi Glow tonic too but I'm not a massive fan of the Nuxe lip balm although I do have one I need to use up!
ReplyDeleteDanielle's Beauty Blog
I might have to give the Liquid Gold a try myself :)
DeleteI've never heard of M&S before, but it looks like you got a lot of great items! I'm interested in the lip balm myself since I also have pretty dry lips (which for some reason never go away) but I really don't like that if you stop using it your lips are back to square one.
ReplyDeleteSam | My Beauty Cloud
I would still say it's a good purchase, you need to apply it once or twice a day to see continued results. Although, if you're good at sticking to a routine (unlike myself), then you might get used to it :) xx
DeleteWow these goodies are so good! I dont think my M&S has these products but I will visit soon in case they have. I think your mum would love the face masks :)

DeleteOh wow, that is a great hamper and I bet your mum was extremely pleased because I would be over the moon to receive that! I am in the minority as I wasn't blown away by Pixi Glow Tonic, it was okay but nothing special on my skin.
ReplyDeleteShireen | Reflection of Sanity
Thank you! Haha that's interesting, normally I don't get on with hyped products, so I wasn't expecting much :)
DeleteI hadn't heard of most of these brands before, it's so good to know there are so many great options. The Pixi Glow Tonic sounds lovely, I keep hearing good things about their skincare and their makeup line, I love when brands have both! And that nailpolish is so pretty! Great nude for a fall look.
ReplyDeleteCy | Dulce de Mango
Thank you! I would really recommend the Pixi Glow Tonic, it's a great fix to dry or dull skin :)
DeleteGreat post, I've only ever tried a dupe of the Pixi tonic, here, you might want to check it out when your pixi one runs out :) The hamper looks amazing. I think its great that M&S sell Pixi, Nuxe and Stila!

I have heard about the £4 dupe, apparently it's just as good. I'll definitely keep it in mind, thanks :)

DeleteGreat product review! I have been thinking about investing in a good lip balm. I hate products that get you back to square one after just skipping one day though!

DeleteNuxe is very expensive too in my opinion, but the quality is amazing. Local M&S doesn't carry anything other than their brand's body products, but I really love them, too!
ReplyDeleteSelene Addicted
It is very pricey, but it might be a good treat every now and again :) I've heard a lot of great things about their body butters too! My Local has a HUGE range :)
DeleteWhat a fantastic beauty offer, that free box looks amazing and there's some real beauty gems in there too. I love my NUXE lip balm, I've had it for almost a year now and I'm only half way through the pot x
ReplyDeleteBeauty with charm
I've barely made a dent in mine either, although I'm sure it'll come in handy this winter :)

DeleteThat hamper is such a brilliant idea, your Mum will love it! And it's nice you got something out of it too. ;D You've reminded me I have a bottle of PIXI in my cupboard, god knows my skin could definitely use it recently! You also definitely need to try out some of Rosie H-W bits, the lipsticks are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteMusings & More
Thank you! I did like the look of the lipsticks, there was also a cream blush and an eyeshadow quad with burgundy tones that I loved :) xx
DeleteOh wow what an incredible hamper! Love those products. Reminded me that I need to repurchase the Alpha H Liquid Gold. It's so amazing x

DeleteI swear by the Nuxe lip balm! I need to check out more from M&S, I always forget they have such a good selection

I was gobsmacked by everything they had!
DeleteWow getting a M&S hamper for free sounds amazing (: all the products inside looks really good.
ReplyDeletehttp://birdiethgirl.blogspot.com
It was a great deal :)
DeleteWhat a lovely hamper! Gifts with purchase offers always make it a good time to buy and it's great that you could get yourself something too. Even though that lip balm is expensive it sounds like it will last a long time!
ReplyDeleteAway From The Blue Blog
Agreed! I'll definitely be taking a look at GWP more often now :) xx
DeleteNuxe lip balm has been on my wishlist for so long that I keep forgetting to purchase it! My lips are the same, even in summer they feel dry. I think I will also purchase the pixi glow, I didn't want to purchase it as most of the time hyped products end up being a failure, however, my skin would probably benefit from it! Also what an amazing hamper it is!
ReplyDeleteEla BellaWorld
I would really recommend it, especially for the upcoming Winter! I was exactly the same, I was like nope it's just going to be another hyped up product! I was so surprised when I could see the results the first time after using it :) xx
DeleteGlow Tonic is probably my most favorite skincare product ever if you were to ask me right this second, haha. It's sooo good! Also, LOVE that Nuxe lip balm. If you get a cold in winter and your nose gets really drying from blowing it, put some of the Nuxe balm on it at night time and your skin will feel SO much better in the morning!
ReplyDeleteOlive & Ivy
Thank you for that tip! I normally put vapour rub on it, but this sounds much more pleasant :)
DeleteThe Nuxe Reve De Miel Lip Balm is literally my favourite product EVER! I have been wanting to try the Pixi Glow Tonic too, might need to give that a try!
